A cosmetic chin surgery can
change the balance of your face.
During cosmetic chin surgery chin implants are often inserted. Cosmetic
chin surgery is commonly performed when patients undergo nose surgery or face
lift, in order to increase the prominence of the lower third of the face and improve
the harmony of the face.
The chin implant is inserted through a small incision in the skin crease under
the chin. Surgery length is 30 to 60 minutes. The cosmetic chin surgery can be
done under Conscious sedation with local anaesthesia or under general anaesthesia.
A chin implant can be inserted in a cosmetic surgery session on a day basis
or an overnight stay, if combined with other procedures such as face lift or
rhinoplasty. Temporary discomfort with swelling and bruising in the chin area
can be expected.
